What is the United Capital City Soccer Club?

  • The United Capital City Soccer Club (United CC or UCC) is a not for profit organization established in 1986 (formerly Capital Soccer Club) to provide competitive soccer in the Jefferson City community.

  • United CC is a recognized member of the Missouri Youth Soccer Association (MYSA).

What is the mission of the United Capital City Soccer Club?

  • United CC strives to promote the development of competitive soccer in Central Missouri for all local area boys and girls.

  • United CC works with, and does not compete with, the YMCA recreational league and local high school programs.

  • United CC works to not only develop soccer players, but also civic awareness and responsibility in our youth.

What is the difference between competitive and recreational soccer?

  • In competitive soccer you will typically find a higher standard of play and more focus on development of both individual and team skills. Playing time is determined by the child's ability and at the coaches' discretion.

How is the United Capital City Soccer Club organized?

  • United CC is a self-supporting club, reliant upon player registration fees, tournament revenues and fundraisers.

  • Five elected officers provide executive leadership.

  • United CC holds club meetings the 2nd Monday of each month (except December) and is open to all members.

  • United CC head coaches are all volunteers.  Most United CC coaches are parents of players, present or past, and others are soccer enthusiasts willing to offer their time and energy.

  • United CC head coaches are required to hold Missouri Youth Coaching Certificate through the Missouri Youth Soccer Association.  All coaches and team personnel are required to pass a background check through the Kid Safe Program, and complete certification requirements for the CDC Heads Up Concussion course and the Safe Sport program. More information on this program can be obtained on the MYSA website.

Why does the United Capital City Soccer Club hold tryouts?

  • Tryouts are necessary to conform to MYSA's definition of a competitive program.

  • The number of teams formed in each age group will be based on the number of competitive players available.

  • United CC might not find a position on a team for everyone who comes to tryouts.

When is training?

  • United CC teams will conduct two training sessions per week typically lasting one and one-half hours each session.

  • Training sessions are held at the 179 Soccer Park and other facilities as needed.

What time commitment is expected from the parents?

  • Each team will need a manager. It is the manager's responsibility to help collect and process all paperwork for the coaches and reserve hotel rooms for the team when traveling out of town. Some managers are responsible for relaying pertinent information for practices and games.

  • Every family is required to attend one general meeting sometime throughout the year and be responsible to bring back the information from that meeting to their team parents.

  • Each family will be required to work at our annual tournaments.
